BA GUA ZHANG AS A FIGHTING ART: COMBAT BASICS

      In this workshops students will learn about the foundations of internal fighting, Awareness, Angles and Power and how these foundations manifest within the trademark techniques and strategies of Ba Gua Zhang. Ba Gua's famous circling defense will be learned along with the natural counters that derive from this circle defense. The hidden kick ideology and the sensitivity exercise called Rou Shou, that are hallmarks of the art will be introduced as will the principle techniques of Ba Gua's 8 energy patterns. This workshop will upgrade the level of all Ba Gua practitioners, be an introduction to the martial foundations of the art for beginners and be of interest to anyone who has ever wondered how the internal martial arts actually fight.
